Terms and conditions

    Introduction
  1. The promoter of the Football pairs Game (the “Competition”) is The Football Association Limited ("The FA").
  2. The prizes for the Competition will be supplied by The FA, Wembley Stadium, Wembley, London HA9 0WS.
    Entering the Competition
  1. Entry into the Competition is dependent on your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and by entering the Competition you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Competition shall run from the 23rd October 2009 to midnight 4th April 2010 for the Monthly Prize and midnight on 30th April 2010 for the Star Prize.
  3. The Competition requires a player to upturn cards and match 6 pairs of playing cards, depicting football players from The FA Cup. Correctly upturned and paired cards with matching players will disappear from the deck when found. Players have 30 seconds to clear the deck. Entrants who complete the game in the allotted time frame can enter the competition by completing the Registration Form. Entrants will be required to provide, inter alia, their first name, last name, date of birth, postal address, contact telephone number and email address when completing the Registration Form, otherwise their entry will be invalid.
  4. Each month from October 23rd 2009 to midnight 4th April 2010, a registrant will be drawn at random to win the Monthly Prize.
  5. At midnight on 30th April 2010 entries will close for the Star Prize. On 3rd May 2010 two registrants shall be drawn at random from all entries received from 23rd October 2009 to midnight on 30th April 2010 to win the Star Prize.
    Star Prize
  1. The “Star Prize” is an opportunity for a young fan (aged from 7 to 12 years) to accompany The FA Cup onto the pitch itself before the FA Cup Final on May 15th 2010, provided that:
    1. This child must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult;
    2. The winner will receive a maximum of 4 tickets in total for The FA Cup Final for the child, their family and/or friends; and
    3. Travel to the event, insurance, meals, personal expenses and any other costs not specifically associated with the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
  2. The Competition for the Star Prize shall close at midnight on 30th April 2010. Only entries received by this time will be entered into the Competition for the Star Prize. Entries received after this closing date will not be processed.
  3. All correct and valid entries received from 23rd October 2009 to midnight on 30th April 2010 will go into a draw with the Star Prize winner chosen at random.
  4. The Star Prize winner will be notified by phone on or before 12 noon on 3rd May 2010 and given details on how to collect their tickets.
  5. Up to seven entries in total per entrant (maximum one entry per entrant per calendar month from October 2009 to April 2010) may be entered into the draw for the Star Prize.
    Monthly Prizes
  1. 11. In addition to the Star Prize, all correct entries received in each calendar month for the months from October 2009 to April 2009 will go into a draw with a monthly winner chosen at random for each calendar month. In April 2009 an April monthly winner will be drawn from correct entries received until midnight 4th April 2010. There will be no monthly winner for the month of May 2009.
  2. 12. The monthly prize winners (November 2008 to April 2009) will each receive 2 tickets to an FA Cup Semi-Final as allocated by The FA at a time and date to be advised (the semi-finals are currently scheduled for 10 & 11 April 2009) (the “Monthly Prize”). Travel to the event, insurance, meals, personal expenses and any other costs not specifically associated with the Monthly Prize are the responsibility of the winner.
  3. 13. The Monthly Prize winners for the months from November 2009 to March 2010 will each be notified by phone on or before 12noon on the 10th day of the following month and given details on how to collect their tickets. April 2010’s monthly winner will be notified by phone on or before 12 noon on 5th April 2010 and given details on how to collect their tickets.
  4. 14. Only one entry per month per entrant may be entered into the draw for each Monthly Prize.
    General
  1. The FA does not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or otherwise not received or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt. Incomplete entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions and these Terms and Conditions are invalid.
  2. Entrants under 18 years of age must obtain the permission of a parent or guardian before entering the Competition.
  3. Entrants and recipients of prizes must be based in the United Kingdom.
  4. All winners for either the Star Prize or any Monthly Prize will be chosen from a random draw of all correct entries received and entitled to be entered into the Competition for that prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into other than with the winners of the prizes.
  5. Each winner of any prize agrees to comply with the conditions of entry applicable at Wembley and shall ensure that any child, family, friends or other guests who attend Wembley as part of the prize comply with such conditions. Any person who is rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable by The FA may be excluded from the Competition or required to leave Wembley.
  6. Full details of the prize and the name of the Competition winners can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address: Match The FA Cup Heroes, The Football Association, Wembley Stadium, Wembley, London, HA9 0WS.
  7. All prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash or other prizes (in whole or in part). The FA accept no responsibility for any costs associated with any prize which is not specifically included in that prize, including, without limitation, meals, personal expenses, insurance and travel expenses in connection with the prize. Winners are strictly prohibited from selling their prizes to any other person.
  8. The FA retain the right to substitute any prize with another prize of similar or greater value in the event the original prize offered is not available due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control or unforeseen circumstances.
  9. The winner of any prize may be required for promotional activity by The FA.
  10. No payment or purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
  11. The FA accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition, not being able to enter into the Competition or accepting any prize. The FA further disclaim liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer or IT systems relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading of any materials in connection with the Competition. Nothing shall exclude the liability of The FA for fraud or for death or personal injury as a result of that party's negligence.
  12. The FA reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside their control or to amend or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.
  13. We will use the information that you provide when entering the Competition to process the Competition and if you are a winner we may publish your name and town of residence on The FA website. Unless you choose otherwise, we will not send you information about The FA or other related football matters and we will not pass on your information to any third parties.   14. Employees of The FA and members of their immediate families are not permitted to enter the Competition.
  15. No correspondence will be entered into in respect of this Competition except with the prize winners.
  16. These Terms and Conditions and the Competition are governed by English law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
